| Thanks to the
recent expansion of the PACE and PACENET
programs, more Pennsylvania seniors will now be
eligible for prescription drug coverage at an
affordable cost. The new initiative, PACE Plus
Medicare, combines the PACE and PACENET programs
with the new federal Medicare Part D
prescription drug program. It will open up
prescription coverage in include an additional
120,000 seniors and provide a comprehensive drug
package for 430,000 Pennsylvania seniors.
PACE Plus Medicare takes the anxiety out of
Medicare Part D. The plan is easy to
understand and makes sure that people who are
enrolled have the same, reliable coverage as
they did under PACE and PACENET. I am committed to
making prescription drugs affordable and
accessible to Pennsylvania's older residents.
I was pleased to support this effort, which
continues to make the Commonwealth the national
leader in prescription coverage for seniors with
the most generous and comprehensive supplement
to the federal program of any state. Please
