For Immediate Release McIlhinney Legislation Protects Solebury Township Land for Recreation, ConservationHARRISBURG – Legislation was signed into law today that would transfer nearly 48 acres of state land to Solebury Township for recreation and conservation purposes, according to Sen. Chuck McIlhinney (R-Bucks and Montgomery). Act 94 of 2008, sponsored by McIlhinney, conveys Lake Aquetong and Ingham Spring to the Township to be preserved for historical and recreational purposes. Ingham Spring is the largest natural spring in Bucks County, producing 2,000 gallons of water per minute. "This transfer will allow the Township to move forward in protecting one of our area's purest natural resources," McIlhinney said. "This is an issue that I have been working on since I served in the House of Representatives, so I am very pleased that we have final approval to turn this priceless resource over to the Township." McIlhinney said the bill would allow Solebury Township to take necessary conservation steps to preserve the area for future generations. "This is a momentous day for Solebury," said Solebury
Township Board of Supervisors Chairperson Ruth Ann Wilson. "Solebury has an
unparalleled commitment to preserving our environment and protecting our
resources, and the Ingham Spring project will be the crowning achievement to
this legacy." Contact: Heather Cevasco | ||
