McIlhinney Announces Baldi Named to Bench

Doylestown Attorney Receives Unanimous Support of PA State Senate

HARRISBURG – Senator Chuck McIlhinney (R-10) announced that the Pennsylvania State Senate voted unanimously yesterday to approve Governor Rendell’s nomination of Robert O. Baldi, Esq., of Doylestown to fill a vacancy on the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.

"My fellow Senators saw the same things that the Governor knew when making his nomination: Rob Baldi possesses the integrity and legal experience that Bucks County residents expect on the bench," McIlhinney said.  "Rob’s decades of courtroom experience -- representing plaintiffs and defendants not only as an attorney but also in his quasi-judicial role as an arbitrator -- are just one of the reasons that Democrats and Republicans came together to unanimously support his nomination."

"I am honored to receive the support of the Governor and the Senate, and look forward to using my 33 years of legal experience to serve the people of Bucks County.  My goal will always be to provide fair treatment and honest justice to everyone who comes before the court," Baldi said.

Baldi is the founding partner of a New Hope law firm and an attorney with more than 30 years trial experience in complicated and sophisticated litigation.  He is a highly respected member of the Bucks County Bar, who for the last 20 years has been regularly called upon by his colleagues to sit as a neutral arbitrator to resolve legal disputes outside of the courtroom.

As a candidate in this year’s judicial elections, Baldi was endorsed by both the Republican and Democratic Parties of Bucks County and received the highest vote total of all the Court of Common Pleas candidates in the May Primary.

"I know that Judge Baldi will be compassionate, as well as extremely knowledgeable, in his application of the law," McIlhinney said.  "Here at home, he has shown his understanding of Bucks County, our values and our communities through his service to A Woman’s Place, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and many other civic and charitable groups throughout our area."

"I know that the people of Bucks County want a judge they can count on to know the law and who is strong when it comes to treating criminals strictly but fairly.  I will work hard to be the kind of quality judge that all Bucks Countians can respect," Baldi said.

Baldi has been a member of the Bucks County and American Bar Associations for 33 years and is currently a partner in the prestigious Bucks County law firm Baldi, Jenei & Cohen, P.C.  Baldi is a 1974 graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law, and a 1971 graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport.  Prior to entering private practice, he served as a Law Clerk to Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Edmund V. Ludwig, and spent four years in the Bucks County Public Defender’s Office as a trial attorney.  Baldi is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Federal of Bucks County, a Bristol financial institution in existence for more than 100 years.
